Reservations Policy


IMPORTANT - Accommodation at this one-bedroom cottage is only suitable for up to two adults traveling without children (aged 0–18 years) and/or pets.


All prices quoted are in Australian (AUD) dollars and are subject to change without notice due to seasonal and other variations.

Booking Policy

Bookings require payment in full by credit card to secure your reservation.

You can check the calendar for availability and make a secure credit card payment to reserve your dates here.

On receipt of your payment, you will receive email confirmation of your booking details.
We will follow up by email with a Welcome Pack, map and Day Trip Planner including directions to the property and check-in information.


Arrival and Departure Times

Check-in anytime after 2pm on the day of arrival.
The property must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure.


Minimum Booking Periods

A minimum of two nights per booking.
An extended minimum booking period may apply over weekends, long weekends, school holidays, and selected special events.



The tariff includes linen for all beds booked and paid for.
Bed linen, bath towels, and tea towels are supplied.
Please bring your own beach towels.

Additional Guests

There is a maximum of two adult guests (aged 18 years or over) per booking.
Nightly tariffs are based on 1 or 2 people sharing the Queen Bed in the one-bedroom cottage.


Babies, toddlers and children

Sorry, the property is not safe for suitable for babies, toddlers or children.
There is plenty of other family-friendly accommodation available at Vivonne Bay. 

Pet Policy

Sorry, pets are not allowed on the property under any circumstances - as the surrounding bush is home to an abundance of native birds and animals.

No Smoking Policy

Strictly no smoking inside the cottage. 
If smoking outside, please ensure all cigarettes are fully extinguished, due to fire risk.


Excessive cleaning

A fee may be charged if excessive cleaning is required after your departure.
Please ensure you leave the cottage tidy, and the kitchen and BBQ as you found them.

Damage / Loss

All registered guests shall be liable for any loss or damage to the appliances, furniture, keys, fixtures, and fittings in the accommodation. Fair wear and tear excluded. 

Personal Belongings

The owners of Serenity Cottage take no responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal item. Remember to lock the cottage when not occupied. Also, lock your vehicle and remove any valuables. Parking is at your own risk. Thoroughly check the accommodation before departure as any items left behind may not be recovered.​


This property relies solely on rainwater tanks for our water supply.
Please use water sparingly, especially during the summer months.

Bushfire zone

Please be aware that the cottage is located in a bushfire zone.
For your own safety, please follow the advice of the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS).

Cancellation Policy


IMPORTANT - We recommend travel insurance to avoid unforeseen circumstances as we have a strict cancellation policy.


All guest cancellations must be advised in writing (by email) before any refund can be considered.
Request for refund

Please provide at least 30 days notice of your booking cancellation. If the dates we have reserved for you in good faith are rebooked by another guest, we will provide you with a full refund.

Request for credit

Guests that need to cancel due to extenuating circumstances with less than one month's notice may be offered a credit to use at another time within twelve months of the original reservation dates. Rescheduled dates are subject to availability. 


If the host should need to cancel the booking, guests will be provided with as much notification as possible and a full refund.
If there is less than 30 days until your reservation commences at Serenity Cottage, we will also provide assistance to find alternative accommodation suggestions on Kangaroo Island for your consideration, subject to availability.
